For an artist, work and self are entangled. How can I, as an artist, approach working in a professional setting, where it may be necessary to detach myself emotionally from the work while still maintaining a level of integrity?

In an ideal world, I can be passionate and invested in a job, but we do not live in a world of ideals.

I don't yet have enough working experience to formulate an answer to these questions.

I think this is a question I will reserve asking to those I encounter in the working world who I admire and record their answers here.
